Glow Girls Project: Because Every Girl
deserves to shine.
Too many girls grow up confused about their bodies, silent about their struggles, and limited in opportunities. We believe every girl deserves dignity, health, and hope for a brighter future. Last year, during our EmpowerHer outreach, we met girls who often had to skip school during their periods, lacked basic pads, or struggled with self-confidence. They also needed ‘big sisters’ to talk to especially about their menstrual health. That experience opened our eyes to the urgent need for a long-term, structured support system for girls. The Glow Girls Project was born from that moment.
The Glow Girls Project is a flagship initiative of TGNC dedicated to empowering young girls in primary and secondary schools across Nigeria. Our mission is simple but powerful: to give every girl the knowledge, tools, and support she needs to grow into a confident, healthy, and thriving woman.
Through the Glow Girls Project, we provide:
Nutrition Education – Teaching girls how food fuels their bodies, impacts their mental health, and supports growth.
Pad Banks – Creating safe access points in schools where girls can get free sanitary pads.
Skill Empowerment – Introducing practical skills that boost self-confidence and prepare girls for the future.
Big Sisters Mentorship – Pairing girls with trained female mentors who visit weekly, offering guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear.
Physical Activities – Promoting exercise and sports for stronger bodies and improved mental health.
Career Enlightenment – Helping girls explore their dreams, understand possibilities, and build vision for their future.
Sex Education - We believe that every girl deserves accurate, age-appropriate information about her body. Through our sessions, we teach girls about puberty, menstrual health, boundaries, consent, and healthy relationships.
